She or he cannot afford the shoes, tux or suit, dress, jewelry, limousine, beautician, prom dues or anything else that represents her celebrating all of her or his educational milestones, efforts, and hard work for twelve long years, how sad? It is very, very sad, and hurtful! When a girl is not able to attend her prom, it is a void she lives with for the rest of her life! She will always ask herself what would my prom would have been like if I had gone? Not being able to attend a prom is devastating to some girls. Then, later on they try to live their prom dreams through their daughters, invading their daughter’s prom prep, prom choice of clothes, prom date, and if that is not enough by wanting or trying to attend their daughters prom (yes, we have had moms trying to sneak into their daughters or sons prom), in reality all the mother is hoping to do is to fill her prom void through her daughter.

2. From the Pageant Prospective.

1. There are children, teens and youths who are homeless, abandoned, and financially challenged, some from single parent family homes. These young people have dreams and hopes of being a queen one day! They see themselves walking across the pageant stage and shining like never before but they can't afford the dress because they do not have the money, how sad? Can you imagine not being able to live your dream because of your situation? Then, you lose hope for life. It would be a dream crusher and a disaster for us to allow a child’s hope to fade away or to allow it to lower a child's self-esteem. We (both you and I) can easily help, we can make a difference in someone’s life and help make their dreams come true! Let’s put a smile on their faces and help them get a pageant dress. So please find a soft spot in your heart of compassion to share yourself in the form of a dress, it does not have to be brand new as long as it is fashionable and current. Process 1

Receiving A Dress

How to Receive A:

1) Dress

First we will need official documentatation verifying that you are graduating or in a beauty pageant before we can send you a dress.

If you are:

A. A Graduating High School Senior

B. A Candidate Officially Competing in a beauty pageant.

Please submit the following:

Prom Dresses

1. Tell us the date of your prom; month, day, year and time. I.e. Saturday May 30, 2015 at 7:30pm.

2. A copy your High School Id with a copy of your transcript from the current semester.

3. A letter written from your guidance counselor on school letterhead or have her or him send an email to us at Pageants@PageantHollywood.com stating that you are graduating and when.

High School Guidance Counselor’s are permitted to request for Prom Dresses for any of their graduating seniors.

4. Your mailing address, phone number and email address are required. Or your High School’s complete address, with your guidance counselor’s full name.

5. After we receive all of the requested information, you will be informed and will proceed to the next level.

For Pageant Dresses we would need the name of the pageant system date, time, and duration of your pageant. A copy of your Welcoming Letter or A Copy of receipt from the pageant.

Criteria

Prom Dress

The Prom dress must be: 1. Only worn once or twice. 2. No older than three (3) years old, which if means you had it in your closet, or purchased it brand new awhile ago, if it is brought from a consignment store it might be older than three years old and it does not fit our criteria. Our goal is to make her feel good about receiving a Prom dress and not less privileged or bad in any way. Just because she couldn’t afford a dress does not mean we should give her a dress that we do not like or what nobody else wants, give the best because we are the best. 4. Dresses and shoes must be in mint condition; no holes, rips, tears, buttons missing, zippers broken, straps broken, broken heals or worn down heals that need to have a heal replace or need a lift, etc. Clothes must be odorless some girls are allergic to various types of soaps and perfumes or colognes. Therefore, Pageant Hollywood kindly asks that you dry clean the dress before sending them to us.

Please, also keep in mind when you are selecting or sending a Prom dress (es) that these are young and youthful girls, try to send dresses that are stylist and youtful. If you want to buy a Prom dress and send it that is fine too!

Pageant Dress

Natural Competitions and Glitz

You may follow the same instructions for the Prom Dresses for the Natural Pageant Evening Dresses and the Glitz Beauty Dresses. The pageant dresses may be as old or up to five (5) years old because most of those dresses were personally designed and customed made.

Some of these dresses can also be used as

wedding dresses, bridesmaid dresses, gala dresses, dressy evening dresses, evening gowns, prom dresses, and other fashionable dresses.

Step 1:

Go to your closet and go through every dress, when you see an evening gown, nice dressy dress, or a dress that can be worn to a Prom, such as: a bridesmaid dress, gala dress, etc. remove it from your rack and then examine it, if it does not have any holes take it to the cleaners to get it dry cleaned. After you get it dry cleaned check the dress thoroughly make sure there are not any spots, stain, the zipper broken or buttons missing.

Pageant Dress

Go through your closet and pick out all of your pageant dresses that you are no longer wearing; you may follow the same instructions for the prom dresses. If you are no longer participating in pageant you may send all of your pageant dress to Pageant Hollywood. However, If gave or give a pageant dress to The Pageant Dress & Prom Dress Exchange you may also receive or request pageant dress for your next up and coming beauty pageant, if you are still entering pageants.

How to Receive A:

You must know all of your measurements, and your dress size. Pageant Hollywood strongly advises you not to take your measurements yourself but have a professional Seamstress take it for you, for acuracy purposes and to reduce the chances of a dress not fitting you perfectly.

What should I measure?

Shoulder width

Arm length

Pageant Hollywood will also need your height and weight to assist with the correct selection.

You should go into stores that sell dresses and try on a few to get an idea of what color looks good on you as well as what style of dress looks good for your body type.

You should request your prom dress 3 months before your prom or beauty pageant, The Pageant Dress and Prom Dress Exchange will send you your Prom or Pageant dress one (1) month before the Prom or Pageant date, submit all of your sizes, measurements, height, weight and list up to at least five (5) different colors but no less than three different colors of your choice. You can also request shoes (give size, width, and color of choice otherwise we will choose the color for you), and Jewelry.

For pageant candidates you may exchange pageant dresses up to five (5) times during a year for five (5) different beauty pageant.

You may describe a dress you would like or take a picture of it and email it to us but we do not make any promises that we can it for you.

You will be sent an email picture of the dresses, once you choose one then we will mail it to you. The Pageant Dress & Prom Dress Exchange will not mail you a dress without you choosing one first. We will do our best to help you find the Prom dress you like and want.

The Pageant Dress and Prom Dress Exchange do not guarantee that we will have a Prom Dress or Pageant Dress for you in your requested color, style, or size. If we do not have the color or size we will let you know immediately but it does not mean that we wouldn’t get one in before your pageant.

Pageant Hollywood does have a first come, first serve policy. If we run out of dresses we will put your name on a waiting list with no promises, if one comes in then we will notify you.

Step 2:

Prom and Pageant Dresses

Place dresses in a plastic dress bag and fold it twice or three times depending upon the dress, then get a box the size of the dress and place the Prom/Pageant dress in the box, if you are sending jewelry please wrap it in crepe gift-wrapping paper and place the jewelry in the fold of the dress. If you are sending shoes you can wrap them in bubble wrap and place them on the bottom or underneath the Prom/Pageant dress.

You must be able to return the Prom dress or Pageant dress in the same condition that your received it in, if you received shoes or and jewelry those also must be in the same condition that you received it in. Do not throw the box or the contents of the box in the garbage, you will use the same to send the dress back to us. However, change the return address to senders's address on the box.

You must dry clean the dress before resending it back to us.

All dresses must be returned or shipped out within 3 business days the latest after your prom or beauty pageant and no later than 3pm.

A $15 money order for handling purposes made out to Pageant Hollywood. Address the package to Pageant Hollywood Attn: The Pageant Dress & Prom Dress Exchange please send them to our Florida location: 981 Highway 98 E. #3205 Destin, Fl. 32451

At the post office send your package signature return receipt or use any other tracking system to ensure that Prom dress and its contents arrive to Pageant Hollywood safely and on time.

As a reminder you must return the dress dry cleaned, the contents; such as the jewelry or shoes in the same manner in which you received it.

In the event you destroy or lose any component know that you are taking a girls prom dream away from them, Pageant Hollywood helped you so please return the same kindness and compassion we had for you to the next needy girl. Prom and Pageant Dresses

Write the size and measurements of the dress, color, along with the Prom/Pageant dress description. Do the same with the shoes; state if they are narrow or wide width and the jewelry. Now place everything in the same box with the dress, seal it, and then ship it off.

If you find that you are not able to give a Prom dress or Pageant dress, there are other things and areas where we can use your help, such as with postage to send dresses across the state to needy girls and young women. All you have to do is send us a postage stamp in increments of $5 and $10, what will The Pageant Dress and Prom Dress Exchange do is place the stamp on the box to mail to the High School graduating senior or to Pageant candidates.
